Costa Rica started growing coffee plants from Cuba in 1729. The micro climate in Costa Rica is similar to the micro climate in Guatemala. We believe that the best Costa Rica is grown in the shrinking region of Tres Rios at an altitude of about 1,600 m. These high grown beans are very firm, contain a lot of water and sugar and can withstand a darker deep roast to result in a single origin with bright flavours of honey, almonds and bitter chocolate. The coffee is sweet and well balanced.
